Frequently Asked Questions
Most frequent questions and answers
What is the best lab test for me?
This all depends on your symptoms, preferences, and price range. You can answer the questions below for yourself using the resources on our website.
Do you want a test that is Qualitative or Quantitative?
Do you prefer a blood draw, finger prick, urine test or saliva test?
Would you rather test at home than go to a testing center?
Would you prefer to NOT have to fast before a test?
How much will my lab test cost me?
Unlike you never knowing how much the labs ordered by your doctor are going to cost you until you get the bill weeks (sometimes months) later, all of the tests that are listed on our website give you the price up front, so that you know how much you’re going to pay and that you can take your trusted results to your doctor, if necessary.
What will my lab results tell me?
Qualitative tests like at-home urine testing strips will give you a gauge from: “I’m probably ok” to “I’m probably NOT ok”. If you’re in the “I’m probably NOT ok” group, consider getting a quantitative test or go see your provider as quick as you can if you think your health is in jeopardy.
Quantitative tests like at-home or in-clinic blood tests give you an accurate number to compare where you’re at vs a normal reference range of healthy individuals. The more tests you get that assess a given condition, the more information you and your provider will have to get you on a better path to health.
What actions can I take after getting my own lab test results?
If your results come back as normal, this can give you peace of mind, but if you have recurring symptoms, never hesitate to contact your nearest healthcare provider. If any result is out of the “normal” range, you should schedule and appointment with your primary care provider and have a very specific conversation about your result. When you book your appointment, tell the receptionist exactly why you need to see your provider. Arrive prepared to ask your provider about specific treatments or lifestyle changes that you can make.
Can you help me find what I need?
Absolutely! An introductory consultation will give you the expertise you need to be a smarter consumer while searching for the best lab test for you and your budget. Follow up consultations will provide deeper education on given subjects, such as: cost-effective urine tests, blood tests, saliva tests, and how you can use these tools to keep better tabs on the current state of your health.
